A Market Day at Birka

Today is Sunday; one week ago today Emeline and I made our way back from Birka. We had such a great time seeing everyone, and of course, who doesn’t love all the shopping? I also fought in the bear pit fencing tournament this year and was pleased with my 16th place result. Sticking it out and fighting the entire time proved extremely beneficial despite my less than desirable kill percentage. Regardless, I learned a lot and had a great time doing it.

After the tournament, Emeline and I walked to market and scouted out some new things that we wanted. I was wearing my hood that Emeline

 made me last year for K&Q Bardic and I was stopped by multiple people who wanted to get a closer look at Emeline’s incredible work but most notably, Duchess Isabella of York. Her kind words really meant a lot to us and she was more than complimentary of Emeline’s beautiful embroidery.

All in all, it was a much needed getaway for us after a very busy beginning of 2019.
